These are some pictures that I took when driving up North for our show.. It was taken around 9am.. I realized something while I was driving.. When you feel like you want to take a holiday outside of our country but you dont have that much of a budget, sometimes you just have to take a moment and just drive to other parts of Malaysia, there are some beautiful places to gaze..

There were more sceneries that are just wonderful to look at. However I couldnt take those photos in time. So just get out there and look for it yourselves. I'll try to post up some more pictures when I have it..

Wow.. this long already?? Sorry guys.. hehe..

Who would have guessed that its already end of the year and 2010 is only a few days away.. Mmm.. so did you guys manage to complete your 2009 resolution? hehe..

Latest update, so far I've just finished writing the music scores for Aurora, 24th AJL. I hope its ok but I guess we'll just have to hear how it sounds like on the day itself.. "Nervous" as usual...

Other than that.. we've been writing new songs lately.. about more than 10 of them..we've been experimenting in the studio.. but it is still incomplete tho.. however there is one song that's been done.. it's called Reach.. so lets just say if you guys out there manage to hear it, ENJOY! :)

Radio Rosak concert has been postponed till not sure when and I have no idea why.. I hope the organizers are doing fine coz they have been working hard trying to do something for the local bands and the local music industry.. oh well...then i guess i'll have the chance to go watch some friends and some new bands at RTW ..

mmmmmm... Din is fascinated with the movie Avatar.. hehe.. I think he saw the movie twice.. and hearing good remarks from friends, I just have to go and watch it.. so I went to watch it yesterday... cool new world concept and story line and the visual effects are superb.. their world reminds me of the ocean life e.g. the glow in the dark thing and the "jellyfish-like seeds".. hehe.. I shall go scuba diving soon..

Lastly, to all our Christian friends have a jolly Christmas and a Happy New Year to the rest of you!

Anyhow, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who gave me a birthday wish. I was away and i figured this is the best place for me to say thanks to u all.....

The band's been travelling quite a bit in Sept, be it for a performance or even other sort of work. We really enjoyed playing Baybeats 09 in Singapore, was pretty shocked to know that they knew our songs. Hanafio's supposed to update more on it. So yeah here's some pics that i found from my mobile phone. Have fun and yes of course, Selamat Hari Raya to all Malaysians.......

Hey guys, whats up? Harap semuanya sihat sejahtera.

Right now, im with the guys in Jakarta. Adalah some kerja sedikit. Kerja sambil bercuti antara anyer dan Jakarta. hehe

We'll be back by next monday, gotta say Indonesian food is great, people are polite here accept for the traffic. We're lucky to have big highways everywhere. Hehe. We met this cool guy from Japan, coolest guy ever but we cant reveal his name. Buahaha. Then we met Padi's drummer name yoyo, funny guy, and this guy name Moko who engineered sound for the lovely AGNES MONICA, saint loco, and few more big names. Mamat tu ada 5 recording studio. Hebat2.

Oh, guess what? We also experience the earthquake over here. Dasyat woo. We were in the apartment when it happened. Scary thing bout it is when we saw the wall cracking. It was like in the movie! Its scary but yet very exciting to see Rich being a Hero and lead everyone to the emergency exit with his speed. Yes, Rich is very fast. We named him FLASH after the event.

Tmrw, kita akan pergi ke Bandung. Ada urusan kerja sambil menghirup udara gunung. hehe.

Baybeats 2009

Finally got some time to update the blog.. hehe.. Baybeats 2009 was a great experience.. This was our third time coming down to Singapore..We didnt know what to expect but it turns out to be good.. We would like to thank to those who came and support, you guys were great and wild!! hehe... hope that no one got hurt..

The production crews were efficient and were very helpfull and friendly.. Too bad that they cant blast the sound from the house speakers because the residents from the apartment and hotels around the area were complaining of the loud noise during soundcheck.. oh well.. but in the end im sure everyone had a great time..

Other than that... I hope we can come down again and perform more.. I want to take some more pictures and buy some more music stuff in Singapore.. haha.. cheers!

Hey guys, how is it goin? Its been awhile we didn post up any blog.
We've been very busy with work etc. Hope you guys are doing great as always..

We're in Penang at the moment. Im in the room with Andy and Rich. We just had our dinner at this place called LINE CLEAR. The best Nasi kandar i ve ever tasted before. Our stomach is so big right now like Sean Kingston. Hehe.

Hanafi is out somewhere in Batu Feringgi with our great crews, they went makan makan late night seafood i guess. They should be back soon and we can start our pillow fight.

Oh, recently we got sponsored by Perodua. They gave us 4 MYVI SE so that we can use it for our tour nationwide. Very reliable and great car to drive i must say. Thank you Perodua =)

She and her husband are personal friends of mine, and she was one of the most supportive person for the band when we were slotted to close the very first Sunburst Festival in Malaysia.

It shocks me to hear such news. Let's all hope for the best for her and family.

Yeah, we seldom talk bout sports. Normally Hanafi will talk about butterflies and birds,
but that doesn mean he cant kick and chase a ball. We normally do best in sports, like swimming,
baseball, jogging, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc. Well, i assume some of it are not sports, but oh well, who cares. Hehe.

The videos below shows how Andy is trying his best to penetrate our defense but fail miserably.

Football season

Ok this is where it sucks, BPL is over and i think 3/4 of Malaysian men will be lifeless goons during weekends cos there's no more football for the next 3 months. Damn it.

But anyhow, the big question, i think some of you may know that me and Rich are big followers of "the beautiful game". A Spurs and Liverpool fan respectively, BUT what about Din and Hanafi? Do you guys think that our lovely guitarists could actually play football? or are they kaki bangku?

So we were at the after party at the recent AIM -16.

A lot of balloons were in the party room, u know la, those balloons that are filled with hot air/whatever gas you would call it.

Hey guys, how you guys doing? ok, i think Andy has already told you guys about our JB Radio Rosak tour moments. Yeah! it was great. We had fun and looking forward for the next JB gig if there s any in the future!

I have few pics here to share it with you guys. Enjoy!

This pic was taken during the soundcheck at the Stadium Tertutup majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru. They have two stages for the gig. Nicely set up.

Our dedicated crews setting up the bands equipments the day before the gig. We trained them like soldiers. Gotta wake up them early in the morning to do 10km marathon , 800 push ups, swim to Singapore and make a swim back to Jb for the soundcheck. Cos , they're Hardcore. Except for Rich. He didnt wanna be part of it. Thats why la Boncit..Hahaha!
This is me and Hanafi on the way to the venue for the soundcheck. Too exhausted from the military hardcore training till we look like North Korean Hardcore soldiers.

Finally, there u go. We're up on stage. Cant really see the rest of the guys since we all wore black tshirts. Rich is singing his lungs out. Think we're playing Aurora at this moment.
We played 7 songs, the set was roughly around 45 mins and the crowd was awesome!

Man, it's a pity i don't have any pictures from the JB gig we just did. It was awesome. Great turn out, and the moshpit was crazy. Orang JB, you guys memang rock sampai gila la wei!!! :D
Even for "Aurora" we got ppl bodysurfing la..... hahah.. cool shit.

And you guys who have been voting for "In No Time", it's no. 1 now apparently (right Sue Ann?). So thank you so much!!! Which means we need to vote as much to keep it at no. 1 then! haha...yeah. so basically we have to vote for it till it's out of the charts la... :D

and aCe+, read your review, thanks a lot man, glad you enjoy the album.

Anyhow, hope one of the guys will post up the pics once we get 'em. It's gonna be a short break for us in May. Off for holiday till a gig on May 23rd. So till then, peace!

Yo, whatsup?

Cant sleep and im bored. So i've decided to blog like a true blogger. Hehe.
Problem is, i have nothing to blog bout. Haha! Bet all of you are sleeping like a baby at this moment. Lucky You!!! Im wide awake like my hamster. They re active at night. Sigh.
I went jamming with the guys last night for this coming Saturday shows. Day time in Pavillion and Later at night in OU for AXN Challenge. We had this guy, named Joe helping us out as a bassist. Pity him, he gotta learn like 8 songs for this weekend. Haha. I feel ur pain brother, thanks for helping us out. Really appreciate it!

Ok, So How do you guys like the In no time video? Did u manage to see urself in it?
I remember we all had backache, pain at the neck and legs due to the headbanging and jumping.
But it was fun right? I had fun. The guys had fun. Hope u guys had fun too. Hehe.

Right now im counting sheeps. Its not working. Let me try to replace the sheeps with Hanafi. ........1 hanafi.. 2 hanafi.. 3 hanafi.........4 hanafi... 5 han.....6 ha........ 7.... ok dats it. Its not working still.

Hey guys, does she look familiar to you?

Yessss.. She is our AURORA queen in one of our single video. That is Aurora Video.
I was informed recently by her mom and her sister that she got admitted to hospital few days back .
She use to have those smile on her face all the time without fail, but she cant afford to do it now since she's too weak for it.
She has blood clot in her brain n raptured brain vessels. Something called AVM. Doctors are working on the best decision to bring her out of the risk and dangerous situation. She is stable but she s still in pain.

We hope that we all can tribute prayers and doa to support her. We wouldn want Aurora to be her last video..

First of all, we would like to thank everyone who came to watch us that day. We had fun on stage and hope you guys had fun too! We were kinda worried if its gonna rain again like last year, but it didnt! the weather was HOT instead. Hehe.

We got this pic taken by Nadia Emil with our crews 3 mins b4 the show start. We get them to wear the mask and join us moshing up on stage. Hanafi's guitar tech, Mr Banu is not in the pic. think he's hiding somewhere behind the amps. They did an awesome job.

Bad ass mother!

Now that's a true bad ass mother, smoking where there's a sign right above your head (haha! The dude next to Din is Fadhil, an interviewer from Singapore). I think 70% throughout the trip, the guys were complaining about the lack of available places to smoke in Singapore.

Anyhow, don't smoke kids, it kills u. You'll die instantly once you have your first puff.

On the other hand, we travelled from Kuching to Singapore and being ignorant, i had no idea Kuching had a beach. It's not the best in the world, but hey, we had a good time at the poolside with a great view of Gunung Santubong and the beach.

Last but not least, we bumped into Joey Jordison of Slipknot... (yeah right!)

Hi, we are excited to come down to Singapore this weekend.. Last time we went down to Singapore was for our Yang Pernah video. I wonder if there's any changes lately..

Music video shoot!

Hey guys, wassup!

What's new with us is we'll be shooting a music video for our song "In No Time" this coming Saturday 21st February 2009.

The style of the video is gonna be raw, dark, and energetic.

And by energetic, we mean by having a lot of people as part of the video. So if you're free to join us on this particular date, come hang out/lepak/minum with the band and be part of the video. It's gonna be like a gig, but i guess it's more personalized. We hope you'll support us on this.

We'll be shooting at the Annexe Gallery (next to Central Market).

Would just like to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone who helped us out for our performance at the recent Anugerah Juara Lagu 2009. We'd like to start with our techs, Arif, Rowen, Norman, and even Azan on bass, you guys did a splendid job assisting us. Our production manager for the night, Aween, thank you very much to you and your team (Amal & co, sorry i can't recall the names of the other guys!) for realising our ideas on stage, you guys worked extremely hard and put up with a very tough working environment, we love working with you guys and we'll definitely be doing that in the near future. And of course, not to forget our own manager, MC for putting up with our shit all these while, thank you very much for organising things for us (sorry that you'll have to put up with more shit for years to come! :D). Everyone did an amazing job, so for now, thank you once again, you guys are all working real hard for the music industry, and that has always been our goal. And to you who's reading this, thanks for the kind comments and compliments as well, we're glad that you enjoyed the performance, and to those who didn't, my apologies that we didn't impress you. We're extremely happy to see another band bagging the top award at AJL. 2009 starts off well for the "real" rock music scene, not too sure about "fake" rockers though.

Anyhow, on a brighter note, our manager told us on AJL day that we won 3 awards at the Voize Independent Music Awards (VIMA) which happened on 17th January. It was for the Best Rock Song category for our song "The Slave in Us" (oh yeah! hidup rakyat!), Most Mind Blowing Music Video - Yang Pernah (thank you kaz cai!) and we got 3rd place for the Best Band or some sort.
You can check out Voize.my for full details. That's another one up for the indie music scene Malaysia. I'm fucking excited, everyone's just having a good look at the music scene over here now. Last 5 years, everyone was talking shit about it. Anyhow, anyone and everyone, let's bring Malaysian music to the world, you, me, our crews, techs, and every rock band in Malaysia. For now, i gotta go, i can't spend my day typing shit over here.

Hey everyone, would just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy new year!

I'm sorry if i don't reply my own myspace account as there's quite a number of messages at one time, so i guess i'll wish everyone over here.

We're still working on the "Aurora" music video, it should be done in the next 2 weeks or so. We're also releasing our first english single from the 2nd album, it's called "In No Time" (the street teamers would know what I'm talking about). Hope you guys will be able to spread the song as much as you can. English radio stations in Malaysia are a tough nut to crack.

Anyhow, we'll be playing at Sunway Borneo Rainforest this Saturday 3rd Jan for a Hot FM Twisties Bingit show somewhere in the afternoon. Hope to see you guys there.

It was our second time performing at KL Tower, and this time it was the Levi's Big Bash Party. We were lucky enough to be on their roadshow. So we travelled to Penang & JB recently and now the last stop is in KL. Here's how it went.

Charity show for Orang Asli Kids

Hi Guys, I ve decided for this topic i wanna write in BAHASA.

Hari tu, kitaorg dijemput untuk mengadakan persembahan Charity untuk kanak kanak Orang Asli.
Tanpa sebarang masalah, kami dengan relanya berasa Honoured kerana dijemput untuk menjayakan event tersebut. Event tersebut bertujuan untuk raise Fund Untuk kanak kanak Orang asli yang berasal dari Pahang.

Sememangnya, dari dulu lagi kitaorg dah cuba mencari peluang untuk terlibat dalam aktiviti sebegini, terutama sekali yg kena mengena dengan alam hijau, org asli, dan pelbagai isu semasa.
Jadi, apabila kami dapat jemputan untuk menjayakan event sebegini mmg kami berasa seronok sgt.

Backstage, time ni all the tenaga pengajar tgh briefing the kids. But as u can see. The kids tak nak dengar, instead they re talking bout mc donalds. And one of them tgh headbang..Hehehehe.

For this event, Andy tak dpt join pasal organiser tak cukup budget untuk siapkan drum. Kesian Andy. Isk isk isk. So untuk event ni, kitaorg main accoustic.

Kita menggunakan khidmat Melina Tempered Mental (Left) sebagai percussionist. Melina bermain Jembe untuk set kami. Manakala Hanafi pula sedang bercakap dengan cicak di atas siling. Hanafi " Cicak, meh la turun, jam ngan aku sekali" Cicak replied " Chit! Chit! Chit!" Hanafi is amazed with the replies.

Masa ni tgh soundcheck. Kitaorg menggunakan rakan rakan ICOM seperti Ronnie (sitting on the right) Untuk bermain Biola dan Savy (2nd From right untuk bermain Violin) .

Kanak kanak AMPAC sedang menunjukkan aksi aksi menyanyi sambil bertepuk tangan memang berbakat. Masa aku kecik kecik dulu pun takde buat camni. Makan coklat pastu menangis je. Takde bakat langsung.

Kemudian selepas kanak kanak AMPAC selesai menghiburkan para anak anak Org Asli, Kitaorg naik stage dan jam lagu AURORA dan REMAIN UNKNOWN. Dengan bantuan Savy, Melina dan Ronnie. Crowd is very warm and supportive. I kept looking at the Anak Org asli Kids. Pasal diaorg takut dengan Din.
Ada yang nangis bila Din try nak pegang diaorg. Wahahahaha.. Its ok. I love them them still.

Hey wassup everyone,

Last weekend was quite of a special historic moment for the band, we had gigs for a charity show which contributes to the "orang asli" (natives) and of course the power packed Flyniversary event at Central Park Avenue, One Utama. Why was it historic? Because it's been years since Estranged performed with another drummer apart from me.
Well i find it historic anyway. It feels weird to know the band's got a gig where i wouldn't be able to play. I was in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for some personal & family matters, so we had to find a replacement drummer as we really wanted to support Fly FM on their anniversary as they have been giving good support towards indie & Malaysian rock bands. So there's no way we're gonna cancel this gig because of my absence.

So, i listed down a few drummers to replace me for this gig (yeah, i'm pretty picky when it comes to replacements as well!) and we managed to get the infamous Bakri, (who is an amazing drummer i tell u) who plays for a dozen of bands in Malaysia such as Gerhana Ska Cinta, Meet Uncle Hussein, Koffin Kanser, Republic of Brickfields and many more.

It was also a great honour that the guys got to jam with him as Din follows bands such as Koffin Kanser back in the days, and right now, they end up jamming with Bakri himself. Plus, this dude is such a down to earth bloke! (all drummers are nice! :D). Can't say the same about guitarist! Hahaha, just kidding Din and Hanafi.
Anyhow, me and the band would just like to say thank you to Bakri for helping us out and that he did a great job. Hope you guys had a great time at the Flyniversary, i heard it was crazily packed and that the crowd was amazing. And i had to miss it. Fuck.

Johor Bahru!!

Hey people.. I know its been a while.. hehe.. We're all happy and especially me COZ we are going to JB this Saturday.. The land where my parents were brought up since young.. I used to go jogging last time when I was young with my grandfather around stadium Larkin.. haha.. I have lots of memories back in Johor.. Ive stayed at my relatives house at Kg. Mahmudiah, Larkin and Kebun Teh for raya.. Now I dont get to go there much often coz my grandparents moved up to KL..

We will be at Johor Bahru City Square in the afternoon and will be performing at Lush Bistro, The Zon.. its at 8pm and no cover charge.. Hope to see you guys there and check out our new songs from our new album.. You may purchase our album from us too!! Do come coz we dont know when will be our next visit..

Hey guys, how is it going?

Last night we had a great time performing at Latte@8. When they approached us few weeks ago, we thought of playing something that we ve always wanted to play.

Lately, we Malaysians have witnessed a lot of tremendous events happening in our own homeland.
Where its already started to bug not only us, but most Malaysians. The politic crisis has caused so much damage in Malaysian citizens life, making most Malaysians feel insecure in our own home land.

We really dont wanna be part of any of it, but in the end, we realized that as much as we love our country and the people around us, it is necessary as youngters to voice out our views regarding issues such as ISA, CORRUPTIONS, DEMOCRACY, and most importantly the issue of RACISM that has been exploited for politics purpose.

It is important for us to do our part rather than have Malaysians suffer racial separation due to corrupt politicians that seek to feed their agendas. Wouldn't it be nice to see Malaysians unite and stand strong against this regardless of RACE, RELIGION, and CULTURE.
What's important is we're MALAYSIANS.

Finally, the band decided to play one of the new english songs which is called 'The Slave In Us". This song is based on our personal observations and thoughts regarding the situation.

We have designed few Tshirts to voice out our concern at the moment which is ISA.
We know this approach may be a great risk, but what the hell. Rather than sit and write love songs, we would rather be apart of of the fight against this injustice.

We had soundcheck from 8ish till 10pm. We had Dj Nasty (The Latte@8 Dj Boy) to help us play some voice tracks for the set.

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Ken. He dropped his bass on the floor during soundcheck. The floor cracked, but his bass was fine. How cool was that? =)

Right infront of us, we see few representative from MALAYSIAKINI who came down. We didnt expect to them to come after sending them invitation. We're thankful and glad to have them with us.

Sorry for the long quiet during puasa month.. I have been busy with my internship, Din has been busy with his diet plans, Andy is just around and Rich was away in KK. For your information the album is currently in printing production. Me and the boys are thrilled and can't wait for the album to be out in stores on 13th October 2008 (which is next Monday).

X Fresh X Gig IV

Hey guys! Watsup!! Hows things?

Its been awhile since i last posted anything here, so today i wanna share with ESTRANGED fans what
we've been doing lately.

Yesterday, we played for Xfresh X GIG IV. The event was held in BORNEO RAINFOREST at Sunway. I brought along my camera. Its my moms actually. hehehe.

We were there since 1030am for soundscheck, cos according to them the event will start at 2pm.
This is our first time here.

This is the stage. Its nice, but somehow it was just too small. We had to adjust alot of things, for equipments placing all, so that we wont hit each other later on stage when we play.

Hanafi is on stage bossing everyone. As u can see he is trying to get izats bass tech Rifa to do the Cha Cha dance, and izat is just speechless and trying to escape.

This is Mr Arif, Andy's drum tech. Focusing on fixing the drums. Somehow he look serious. Why so Serious? hehehehe... Arif is Hanafi s cousin by the way. Very good drummer. I think he s hungry.

Andy is helping out his tech to set the drums too.

We started the soundcheck late by the way, cos of few techical problems, but it was all good in the end.

The place is equipt with airconditioner, fans everywhere,
but somehow its still hot! Very.

We were hanging out at the air-conditioned VIP room,
but it was still Hot. I think it s the whole global warming thing.
See we need to do something before it gets worse!

There, Andy and i are sharing a giant fan. So that our tummies wudn't sweat as much. Hehehe.

Finally the band was ready to soundcheck! Rich had just arrived. It was ok for him to come later a bit since he just need to soundcheck the mic. The sound was great, everything was good, thanks to our soundman, Steven Tan. And to all our great crews.

During soundcheck, we could see there were alot of kids and the fans of other bands outside waiting. They couldn't enter the venue cos the soundscheck session was not finished yet. We love to see how enthusiastic the crowd is showing support to local bands.

This is where we wait for our turn to play. Mc is busy serving everyone wih food, so that they can be happy again. Look at rich, he is dancing while eating, too happy i guess. He s doing the 'shake your Bon Bon! shake your Bon Bon!!' thing.

While waiting for our turn, we had interviews and photoshoot session backstage too from few medias.

Rich and i trying our best to look like tourists! hahahahaha! doesnt look like it ei? more like orang utans beside a river. hehe!

Ok enough of all that, lets see how the crowd respond when the band is on stage.

Did you see the crowd?! amazing isn it?! They moshed non stop, and creat the mini wall of death when we played our set!

Full house bebeh!!! It was fun! Crowd was great.! Superb.

With few other bands, and X Fresh team who put alot of work for the event to be such a Success.

We were touched to see tremendous support like this towards our local bands. The indie bands need this kinda a support to create the scene. Thanks to the organisers too who were willing to sacrifice alot to see this kinda event survive , keep it up and definitely there will be more great talents creates from the scene

Anyhow, just here to talk a bit about our next performances. First of all, we've been invited to be the guest band for Samsons' album launch over here in Malaysia. There'll be two shows, one at Bar Savanh Too in Mon't Kiara on the 31st of July, and the other at Republik, Sunway Piramid on the 1st of August. Both shows start at 8pm.

On the 2nd of August we'll be performing at a mini concert like event which is organised by HP. It's gonna be at Berjaya Times Square 730pm onwards on the 2nd of August. HP is launching their new HP Pavilion TX2000 Entertainment Series, and apparently there's gonna be lots of games and competitions to win their products. If that's the case, I'm in for it man! I wanna win my self a HP laptop or whatever!

More importantly, it's gonna be a 45 mins set from us, so yeah, we haven't been doing that for a while have we? We'll be playing our new stuff from the upcoming album "Remain Unknown", so yeah, if you're free and bored on Saturday night, join us at Berjaya Times Square la..... and all of us will go crazy.... but stay away from the games and competitions, cos I want to win that HP thingy :D

We've also finished the entire recording session for the album, and we're already on the mixing stage..... Another step closer to completion!!! It'll be out real soon la guys..... don't wanna give you a date yet, cos then it might not happen on that date and then you're gonna get pissed with me. Anyhow.... hope to see you at our shows!

Greetings everyone!

I'm blogging from the hotel room in Medan, right now it's about midnight here, and it has been a long day..

we arrived to Medan from Jakarta at about 1pm.... we didn't really sleep the night before in Jakarta, we kinda went out till late :D

and today was just a full day of activities, we had a press conference to attend, and then the organisers were so kind to take us around the city with a humvee along with the other bands... and then interview with Visi FM (Medan's no.1 radio station), more interviews with Rolling Stones & LOUD mag...

Now we're hanging out and waiting for a chance to soundcheck for tommorow's show..

i want to sleep, but then i also want to hang out and chat with everyone..
oh well..that's just me..

It was the launch of the Nike T90 II, and i was invited to play football against some celebrities and also some of our Malaysian football pros and legends. It was my honour not only because of the players that i was gonna play with, but also because at that point, the football boots was not released yet, so i was gonna be one of the first to wear them in Malaysia, and Nike was kind enough to give me a pair. THE GEARS

We used 4 different guitars for the recording.. Din's PRS copy custom made guitar, my Fender Jag Stang, Jedi's Line 6 Variax 700 and my friends Fender Highway 1 Telecaster..Oh I forgot.. plus one La Patrie classical guitar.. The Guitar Store was nice enough to lend me one specifically for this song..

Through out this whole recording process Din is using his Mesa Dual Rectifier Solo Head 100 connected to a Line 6 cabinet. I'm using a Vox AC 30 CC 2X. I can assure you that Vox amps do pack a punch on the guitar sound, will elaborate more on the Vox amps on my next blog. You can check CK Music.

A Mild Soundrenaline 2008 & the MV premiere

The theme this year is "Free Your Voice". What am i talking about? Yeaps. It's the A Mild Soundrenaline 2008 which we're invited to play for. This time around, Soundrenaline will be touring around 5 states in Indonesia, and we'll be playing for 2 out of the 5 spots, which will be in Pekanbaru on July 13th and Medan on July 20th. We don't know what to expect, but we're excited.

Anyhow, we're just hoping to rock the crowd over in Indonesia. Not too sure who else we'll be sharing the stage with but I think Nidji will be performing as well. So wish us luck, and if you're really into the whole rock festival thingy, A Mild Soundrenaline is the festival you'd wanna go for.

Apart from that, the music video for "Yang Pernah" will be going on air throughout this week and the next for the very first time on nationwide tv!!

Apologies to anyone who was looking forward to us performing at the recent Hall of Sounds'08 gig. We didn't manage to perform in the end of the event due to the delay of the event. I personally had to leave even before the time our slot had arrived. Initially we were scheduled to perform at 815pm, however due to the nature of events getting delayed, our slot got pushed a lil bit later, which was fine, at least till other bands wanted to play just before us which would mean our slot would only be delayed even further. My personal appointment was at 10pm, by 1030pm, we still weren't up on stage. Bear in mind, i had already informed the organizers prior to their notice. It's all good. We're still here to stay, we'll see you at other shows.

So we had a great time playing at Laundry recently. Here's some random pics....

We also had an interview the very next day with Channel V's My AMP..... so look out for that, we don't know when exactly it's going on air, but we'll inform you asap once we know when it's going on.

I'm done with my drum tracks for the second album!!!!! ...... all 13 of them... not sure if all of them are gonna be in the album or not...but oh well.........we'll have to see.

We're heading to Singapore this weekend!!!! For our music video shoot for the first single. The song's called "Yang Pernah". We're all running around like headless chicken right now. I think we're gonna stay in some whore house to save money la! hahah.....

We've been very picky with gigs recently, of course, our main focus for now is to finish up the album. But we've decided to take this one for a number of reasons. It's been a while since we played in Laundry Bar @ The Curve. Plus this phone looks pretty cool la. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Motorola ROKR E8

Haven't really seen the phone by my own eyes yet, but somehow I feel as though it seems pretty interesting. It's more of a music phone (obviously la, it's called the ROKR, pronounced "rocker"??) and i wonder if it's like a touch thing on the pads. Hmmm... oh well, I'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, we're performing for the launch of this respective phone on May 14th at Laundry Bar, should be around 8pm ish....... we'll definitely be playing our new tunes.. Gonna be a trial and error kind of thing but we'll promise you a good show! So yeah, come lepak with us....we'd be more than happy to.

Alongside us would be performances by Karen Nunis Blackstone, a very talented violinist Dennis Lau, and rockers "Kiri"

Pretty wide range of genre ain't it? All the more fun.

Trip To Lanchang Pahang

Hey guys.. watsup?

I've been going to Pahang lanchang recently for work. I don't usually bring a camera around, but this time my bro's beloved gf brought her's.. So here are a few photos i am posting up to share with you guys.

Ok lets start from the beginning.. This is me infront of my hse. Yes i ride a bike and its my current hobby!

Thats my uncle sitting behind. It took us roughly around 45 mins to reach Lanchang Pahang.

This is my brother Krol, with his new zx r10. Suits him ei? This is his first bike ever and the trip to Pahang was his first long ride. He was nervous. Hahaha!

So the journey begins!

In karak highway.. The moment we hit the highway it was fun all the way! Scenary was beautiful..

For you guys out there who ride bikes.. RIDE SAFE!

After a long and thrilling ride, we finally reached lanchang. I've been going there of late for work. i've never been there or heard about it before, but it's actually a very nice place. Its located nearby TAMAN NEGARA Pahang, and i went there after work to visit some of the wild animals!

TADAAAA!! I think these are deer.. heheheh. Or Kijang maybe? I know for sure they aren't Sang Kancil!! Heheh. I bet you guys havent seen any Sang kancil.They're really small.

As you can see.. the deer are all around me. I feel like Robin Hood. Heheh

So many deers!! Yeeee.. at first i felt a bit scared, worried that some of the male ones may get jealous of the females following me around.. hehehe But then i noticed that they came up to me asking for bread too. =)

This fellow here.. I named him MILO. He s so cute and adorable. He followed us around until we left. Cute ei?
We're trying to 'pujuk' him to go back to his deer crowd, and trying to figure out how to tell him in 'deer' language.
As u can you can see, Mus finally managed to console him upon our departure.

Hehe.. After the deer visit, we visited ostriches birds, peacocks, hedgehogs and other wild animals. Sadly there were no macho animals like tigers, jaguars, pandas etc. I was hoping to see some should there be any.

In the end guess what? i met this bear!
He s with his trainer.. His name is MUDA. I know that cute animals like bears are usually the fierce ones. I heard alot of stories abt how bears can easily tear up humans to pieces. ..so when i met MUDA i had my guards up.. To stand by in case he attacks me...

Krol was daring enough to go and hold the bear as if they knew each other for long. I was still in 'Stand by' Mode, in case if anything goes wrong.. scary scary. ( Im just pretending to look strong and act normal) Hehehehe..

i guess i was wrong. MUDA is friendly after all! Im feeding him with milk on my palm. He's not scary the way i thought a bear would be. This bear is cool.

This is how MUDA looks like. He s friendly and playful. As long you show him some love, he ll give the same reaction. MUDA Rules! hehe..

Recording Gears

Hey guys, i've received alot of mails and questions from fellow musician friends asking about the gears i use for our 2nd album's recording. So i ll post some gears that i got yah?

Lets start with my guitar..

This is ATLAS NO BRAND guitar.. It looks like the PRS guitar but its not. hehe. I got it last year and it sounds great. I use this for live shows and recording. =)

Next is my amp..

This is the Super Duper MESA BOOGIE DUAL RECTIFIER. I've had it for like 4 months now and im deeply in love with it. After i got it, i stopped using distortion pedals. The distortion that i get from this Dual rectifier itself is waaaaayy to cool even for me.

ok here are few more effect pedals that i am currently using for the recording process.

The DUNLOP UNIVIBE. This effect produces chorus clean sound with vibrato and also if u adjust the speed it produces this great dark scary sound.. like umm out of tune vibrato sound. hmmm.. i dun quite know how to describe it in words though.. hahahaha! don worry u ll get to listen to it in the 2nd album. heheh

The Tremolo

This baby is cool.. not only does it produce delay sounds, it also has reverse and overdubbing effects. cool eh? heheh

Next is the Digitech Whammy
Oh this thing is so fun. There s 2 octave effects, 1 octave, and dive Bomb.. uuu yeeaahhh.. Whammy Yummy. heheh..

This is the only distortion pedal that im currently using. I use it for certain riffs then layer it with the mesa's distortion. Loving it! Hanafi and i sometimes use it to jam Marilyn Manson..Beautiful people!!!

AIM and APM

I think it's safe to say that we're about 40% done with our album recording... i know! i know! it's taking forever isn't it?

We're more excited than any of you trust me. But so far so good, what's done has been sounding great.

We just came back from Melaka for the weekend, had a lot of fun performing for MMU's Prom Night at Hotel Equatorial. Nice to see all the students suited up, coming up front to the stage, to sing and party with us. Now that's really rocking up! Also had my chance to dropby to the one of the more happening clubs in Melaka called Pure bar...... it was massively packed.. i was there with Steph Chai, Jien, DJ Uno and lots of other friends..... it was nice to catch up with Steph and Jien (who were both the emcees for the prom), haven't seen them both for quite a while. Ironically, i know Jien when i was like 7 yrs old or so.. yeah we go way back....

Anyhow, awesome news!
We recently found out that we've been nominated for 2 categories in this year's Anugerah Industri Muzik, for Best New Artiste and Song of the Year (Itu Kamu la of course!)
And it's also our pleasure to know that we're invited to perform at AIM -15, so we're definitely gonna play a new song la....Question is, should we play a new english song? or a new malay song? What do u think? AIM is happening on the 3rd May 2008 at Putra World Trade Centre.

We're also nominated for 2 categories for Anugerah Planet Muzik under the "Kumpulan/Duo paling popular" and "Lagu paling popular". However this award show is happening like this week, 20th April 2008 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

So pleas do wish us luck. We're not expecting to win anything. We're more honoured to be nominated than anything else.

I love drums. I guess it's kinda like a hobby now for me to collect brand new snares..... and maybe also cymbals.

I just ordered myself 2 brand new snares in Dec and finally, it has arrived here in KL a few days ago.

Here's how they kinda look like.

This one's a transparent acrylic

and this one's a 16ply with a really really cool wrap around it.

If you're wondering how it sounds like, it's gonna be in the album la... so you can hear...haha

Oh yeah, these snares are from Spaun Drums from the United States.

Syukur Alhamdulillah..

Being in AJL was an experience that we would never forget.. I think we all learned a bit more of the Malaysian music industry day by day.. The preparation for the final show was a headache for all of us but I guess it went well in the end..

We owe our crews a lot..I think we would be in a mess if we didn't have them with us.. They are a part of the family.. The Arrangement of Itu Kamu for AJL & The Score for The Strings Section

We only took 2 days to finalize the arrangement of Itu Kamu for AJL.. We all agreed that it should be simple and not losing the essence of the song itself..

I was given the task to write the score for the strings section.. I was nervous about it.. 2 reasons.. One is because of Ramli MS.. He is one of the highly respected composer and arranger in Malaysia and he is very strict when it comes to work..Secondly, its because of my first time writing for a real live strings section.. I have written scores for my college project a lot of times but most of them ended up being sequenced..

It took me roughly 5 days of not enough sleep to finish the 15 pages score and plus it was overdue.. hahaha.. busted..

We had problems with the arrangement along the way.. I'm not gonna talk about it coz it's gonna be a long... long... long... story. All I can say that we had to change the arrangement one more time before the final show..

I wouldn't say that my strings arrangement was great but its a start for me to write more to improve myself.. I learned that Ramli MS is actually a nice guy after all but I know when it comes to work, you just have to make sure you do it properly and do it right..

Dewa 19

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of Dewa 19, but i like their songs...and knowing that i had to interview them for Hitz TV, i had to do a lil research on them.
But of course, Dewa 19 is one of the biggest Indonesian bands to ever hit Malaysia and i've got a lot of respect for the guys.

Meeting them was an experience. Ahmad Dhani is an idealist in my point of view. He explained everything about the band and also on their current situation on how Andra and Once have got their own thing going on apart from Dewa 19. It's all cool

Muzik Muzik Semifinals

So we're nominated into the semifinals of this year's Muzik Muzik...which will lead up to Anugerah Juara Lagu which is pretty much the finals. Well, i don't know what to hope for, but i guess god will put us in our place la.
So the past few days we've been busy with rehearsals for the show and soundcheck and what ever not. Here's some shitty video and pics that we took la... more to come i guess..... as usual, we're weird mother fuckers, that' why we're Estranged.

What a night!!!! It was the best night ever, especially if you get to perform in front of such intriguing, fun, responsive and not to forget, supportive fans.

Views from the front... where the audience never seem to tire themselves. A lot of Sabahans around too. hehe...

These are the kinda fans you need to have for all the gigs in Malaysia. They were even chanting Itu Kamu. How Awesome!!!

And here you could see the three posers of Estranged... And look closely at Din... I knew something smelled funny. Hahahahaha!!!!

It's the beginning of the month and i feel like we've got a looooong month coming up...
We've been jamming like nobody's business, i don't think we've jammed as much as this before. But i have to say, it's been god progress and the second album is turning out to be something that i just can't wait to put it out in stores....

We're also gonna be involved in this years Muzik Muzik: Separuh Akhir (Semi-finals).... we're up against lotsa big names such as Jaclyn Victor, Felix, Andy Flop Poppy, Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, and many more....we're obviously not hoping for anything, but yeah, we're just gonna go there do our part and see how things go la...
*fingers crossed*!!! That's all happening on the 25th of November 9pm TV3.

anyhow, off to jamming again, it's been crazy i tell you, quite tiring also la..

The Making of Itu Kamu

Hey guys, hope you'll enjoy this "never been seen footage". Yeap, the beginning of Itu Kamu. The recording sessions. Maybe it's a bit too outdated but I guess it's not over till it's over. Hehe, excuses. Well, I couldn't have made this if I didn't get a new laptop. Yes, time for me to boast. I got a Vaio. Hehehehe. The reason to how i could import the videos from my dvd cam, edited the clips and post it right here..

Going back to the video, you will see all five members, Ken included and Jedi, from Pop Shuvit, who engineered the whole session. Also a glimpse of Anthony, a.k.a Tiny who was to travel around with Estranged, as their stage sound engineer, later on from here. And the video is also taken by someone anonymous who requested to remain unknown. Hehe, mysterious. You could hear him laugh, that's all. Some might even say, that I was still on a good diet at that time, which I am finally admitting. Thus, my confession of the recent admission to the famous Fitness First franchise. Yes I go to the gym nowadays. The rest, Hanafi with his ever changing hairstyle. Din, no changes there. And Andy, still, very tall.

We were having the best times recording though i did not include most of the clips where we were sharing our ideas on the song, and also the discussion we had on the album's cover. The 7 minute video will let you see methods use by us while recording, and editing time. You will also see Ken Chung record with Estranged for the last time, though I wouldn't say it'll be imminent.

I still like to say my special thanks to Ken, a friend, a former member of Estranged, and probably always will. To Jedi, for the work he's thrown for us. Anthony, for, yea, the help and mystery man, for being the camera man. Cheers.

Lastly, here's to you, from me, one of the first many videos to come.

Busy month of July

Wassup,

It's been quite a month for me, I was involved in this motorsports show as a tv host, pretty last minute but hey it was hell of a ride.

Started off in Jakarta, followed by Bangkok and then Germany + Switzerland!

Didn't really take many pics in Jakarta and Bangkok but i was glad to meet up with my uni buddies Timmy and Angie in Jakarta! thanks for coming out to hang guys.

anyhow, here's some pics rather than me talking kok...

I stayed in a small town called Bad Betrich, which is about an hour away from Koln, and 1 hour and a half away from Frankfurt....it was filled with old geezers....i think it's some kinda retirement home area thingy...but very peaceful, filled with restaurants and hotels.

the flowers are just amazing in Europe.

and the Hotel i stayed in Bad Betrich also happens to be the hotel the Swiss team stayed in for the World Cup '06. That's Johan Vogel from AC Milan(i think he's still in AC Milan).

Then it was work at the Nurburgring, one of the cars displayed just outside of the track.

I was one of the VIP Guest with the BMW Sauber F1 Team as Petronas is the main sponsors for the team and also sponsors for the tv show i was hosting. Those buildings on the right are actually trucks that transforms into hospitality booths.

Then we went o Hinwil in Switzerland to check out the BMW Sauber F1 Team facility, i got to see how they built the steering wheel, the car, the engine and a whole lot of other shit.

F1 in Europe is a whole different experience, i would really recommend anyone to go for it.

Anyhow, i'm back in KL now, it's time to focus on Estranged for now. I heard the guys wrote some new stuff while i'm away, i can't wait to hear it.

It's gonna be a tough year end for us, lotsa work. We gotta look for a bassist, record the demo for our album, and of course keep doing shows for the time being.

I cannot wait for the second album.

...since forever man! it's been like 2 months since any of us posted anything on this blog, but hey, we were really busy, end of Feb we had our album launch....and from then on so many things happened!

yeap, that's him..... I got the opportunity to interview Wes Borland formerly with Limp Bizkit and currently with Black Light Burns (check them out at myspace.com/blacklightburns). The best thing about Wes is that he's a really down to earth guy, and i'm really serious. Me, Din and Hanafi got the chance to meet him and we also had the chance to take him around KL a lil bit along with the boys from Pop Shuvit.
It's a dream come true i tell you.

I have videos of Wes hanging out and stuff, but i'm just waiting for Wes to give me the approval to put it on youtube.... till then you should subscribe to our youtube videos,

ITU KAMU video premiere

Wassup guys, great news! Astro Ria picked up our video and they'll be premiering our music video for the very first time throughout Malaysian TV...

Tune in to Astro Ria (Channel 4 of your Astro) at 930pm on the 30th January 2007 for the programme Muzik@Ria, hosted by Yasmin Hani for the Malaysian premiere of the music video ITU KAMU by ESTRANGED exclusively on Astro Ria.

Apart from that, tune in to Astro Ria as well on Monday 29th January 2007, as ESTRANGED will be interviewed on the programme AF Fail Sulit at 9pm. There's also a short preview of ITU KAMU on the show.

Going to Sabah was a good experience for me.. The people, the scenery, the FOOD!! not forgetting the Islands in Sabah.. Sipadan, Mabul.. Labuan..

Andy, Din, Izat and I tried the sumpit at Karambunai.. some of us manage to shoot the targets and some of us are just plain LOSERS!!! hahahahha..

So now I have two more states on my list that I have to visit.. Kelantan and Perlis..

I wish I could write more.. maybe later.. cant think right now.. its like 6 o'clock in the morning.. Haven't had my sleep yet.. Cheers..

Have you met my girl yet? Haha, yeah right. Hannah T with the Best Pop/Dance Award at the Hitz.fm Malaysian English Top 10 Awards. I had the opportunity to present the award to her, and i got a hug... yeay!

Hey man... watsup?
This whole week im busy with baseball preparation for next year league, also need to work with the album cover and jamming of course for upcoming shows..

Recently i ve listened to Deftones new single..its called 'Hole in earth'. Its awesome guys.. really.
Also 'Anna Molly' from Incubus.. Man those riffs are brilliant!, ' I wonder' where do they get those ideas?!

Have u ever wonder sometimes, after listening to those great music ull be like ' how come i dun even think of doin that?'... hehe. Thats real talent man..

Im still searching for originality.. im struggling for it.. Hopefully someday i ll find it.

Wow!! I'm excited! We just recorded a new song recently, as we are gonna be releasing a repackaged version of our album, so anyway, we finally got the listening mix of the song, it's not finalised yet, but it sounds awesome... JD from 2105 productions did a great job (he's our engineer for this particular song)! ... now i just can't wait for us to settle all the legal matters and get the CD out! Keep out fingers crossed!

Not too long ago, i had the oppurtunity to interview (thanks to Hitz.tv) one of my all-time favourite drummer, Kenny Aronoff. If you're not a drummer, probably you won't know this dude, but he's one hell of an amazing drummer.. he's played for SO many artists, includes John Mellencamp, Santana, Michelle Branch, Alanis Morissette, Smashing Pumpkins, and also that song from the movie "That Thing You Do!"...and of course the list goes on...you can check out the full list of who he's played for here
